Dry Fruits and Nuts Kheer

Kheer is a thick milk pudding.  Rice kheer, vermicelli kheer , sabudana kheer, mango kheer, almond kheer etc. are the common
varieties among kheer. Here is another healthy and delicious kheer recipe using
mixed fruits and nuts. Here I use condensed milk for thickening. You can
substitute it with sugar and evaporated milk if desired.
Ingredients:
  1. Milk-500 ml

  2. Sweetened condensed milk- ¼ cup

  3. Mixed dry fruits and nuts- ½ cup

  4. Saffron-few strands

  5. Cardamom powder- ¼ tsp

Preparation:
  • Soak saffron in 2 table spoons of hot milk for 15 minutes by
    crushing it with hands.

  • Boil milk with sweetened condensed milk.

  • Stir well and cook for about 20 minutes in low flame until
    it reaches its half the volume and just thickening consistency.

  • Add saffron soaked milk, cardamom powder and ¾ th part of
    the mixed nuts and fruits.

  • After cools down; add in to serving glasses and garnish on
    top with dry fruit and nut and pomegranate seeds.
