Chicken Peralan - Recipe Book

Chicken Peralan is an authentic Kerala chicken preparation
that goes well with paratha, chapathi or any other Indian flat bread. The
chicken is thickly coated with all the spices and onion masala; hence it s a flavorful
dish.


Ingredients:
  1. Chicken- ½ kg

  2. Oil-2 tbsp

  3. Turmeric powder- ½ tsp

  4. Chilly powder- 1 tsp

  5. Coriander powder- 1 ½ tsp

  6. Pepper powder- 1 tsp

  7. Garam masala- ¾ tsp

  8. Salt-to taste

  9. Onion sliced-1

  10. Shallots sliced-1 cup

  11. Ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp

  12. Tomato chopped-1

  13. Coriander leaves chopped-1 tbsp

Preparation:
  • Marinate cleaned chicken pieces with all the spice powders
    listed in ingredients (3-8).

  • Heat oil in a pan, add shallots, onion, green chilly and
    curry leaves.

  • Saute until transparent.

  • Add ginger garlic paste and sauté until raw smell goes off.

  • Add tomato chopped and sauté until all the tomato pieces are
    mashed well.

  • Add marinated chicken pieces in to it and mix well for a
    minute.

  • Cover cooks it for about 20 minutes until cooked nicely.

  • Now open the lid and cook for another 10-15 minutes until
    all the masala gets dried and coated well with the chicken.

  • Switch off the flame and add in to serving plate.

  • Serve hot by garnishing  it with
    chopped coriander leaves and onion.
